Due to excellent wind conditions you can kite at Costa Esmeralda all year round. However, the best months are usually between September-June.
Being a tropical coast there are many lagoons and lakes nearby for those who love it flat! 
Costa Esmeralda is blessed with two very different types of winds. “Nortes” or northerlys and “Suradas” (southerlys). During Norte season it is common to have days in between with gentler Suradas.
Suradas occur all year round. With warmer winds between March - October and 13-25 knots in wind speed. They get fresher between November and February.
Nortes are famous for strong winds. With winds up to 40 knots we are able to kite with 4-6 metre kites!! Dont worry if you don’t have small kites, you can rent ours providing that you are an experienced kiter. Nortes start around October and last until March.
They bring cooler air and sea currents so we use wetsuits (2mm) during that period. Also expect some big waves (out to sea) and choppy conditions (near to shore) during this period. Lots of fun if you´re into the adrenalin side of kiting, wave riding and big air! Due to our wide range of equipment we are still able to effectively teach during the nortes.

NO WIND!!?? Sometimes we have a day or two with no wind but don’t worry we have several activities on and off site to keep you entertained.
To start with we have quadbike surfing which is like wakeboarding but you substitute the jet ski/boat with a quadbike that races along the shoreline and tows the rider who surfs in the shallows! Great board practise while having tons of fun!

Tandem kayak tour in the mangroves, visit the archaeological site of El Tajin, White Water Rafting in the world famous Filobobos river.
